Nuottakallio is an open, modern log cabin for hire. It has stunning rocky views over Lake Saimaa, Finland's largest lake. For decades, a hut for storing fishing nets stood on the site of this cottage, showing that this has always been a good area for catching fish. A large plot of 2 hectares, verandas, grill hut and piers offer all that is needed to relax in peace, even if you are travelling in a large group.

The living room and kitchen form a large open space all the way up to the roof and the light wooden surfaces further enhance the feeling of openness. The fresh interior will please even the most demanding eyes. It is only 500 metres to Lokkero, the neighbouring cottage, so these two cottages can comfortably accommodate a party of 16.  

Lake Saimaa is great for swimming, the water is clear and clean. Wooden sauna by the shore offers the extreme Finnish sauna experience. There are quite many steps because of the rocky surroundings, for visitors with restricted mobility, we recommend the Syväjärvi cottage. The Nuottakallio cottage is suitable for visitors with allergies: pets are only allowed on Lake Saimaa in the Fisherman's cabin.

• Plenty of space to accommodate 4 + 4 people: 2 bedrooms, gallery level, sofa bed in the living room for 2 people

• 85 m2, gallery level, 2 bedrooms, kitchen-living room, 1 toilet, shower, electric sauna, electric heating

• Large terraces on both sides of the cottage, towards the access road and towards the lake

• Suitable for visitors with allergies (pets are welcome at Fisherman's hut I and II and Vasikkahaka)

• Built in 2006 using wood taken from the cottage's own forest

• Large plot: 2 hectares

• Grill hut, with a fireplace and good equipment including boards for flame-grilling fish

• 300 m of shoreline, steep rocky beach, steps down to the beach (for visitors with restricted mobility, we recommend the Syväjärvi cottage)

Activities

• For fishing enthusiasts, Lake Saimaa offers freshwater salmon, perch and pike. You can go fishing alone or with a guide. Enquire about fishing permits when you make your booking. Motorboats are available for an additional fee.

• A canoe instructor can bring canoes to the cottage or you can go to the Suomijärvi canoeing centre for the day alone or with a guide

• The closest hiking trail,Orrainpolku (9.4 km), is located 15 kilometres away 

• It is a short boat trip from the cottage to theAstuvansalmi rock paintings. Enquire about boat transportation.

Information and Conditions

• Between midsummer week and the end of August, and at new year, the minimum rental period is one week. Changeover day is Saturday.

• Check-in from 4pm, departure by midday. You can clean the cottage yourself or leave the cleaning to us for an additional fee.
