Tempted by the pristine fishing waters of Lake Saimaa? Enjoy the perfect setting for a fishing holiday: a traditional lakeside cabin, just 30 m from shore, with a motorboat ready at your dock.
You won’t always need a boat, as perch up to 300 g have been caught right off the Lokkero pier. After a day on the water, unwind in a warm sauna, share your best catch stories, and finish the evening by the fire in a cozy grill hut. It’s fully equipped with a plank for open-fire cooking and a smoker for your biggest catch.
Fishing Holiday on Lake Saimaa
Finland’s largest lake is famous for its trophy pike-perch, northern pike, and brown trout. For anglers, its vast waters and thousands of islands offer endless fishing spots. Whether you prefer casting, trolling, or simple rod fishing from the dock, a rewarding catch is always within reach.
Fishing Permits & Fees
Before your holiday, remember to pay the Finnish fisheries management fee. This national permit allows lure fishing with one rod and one lure, trolling with one rod, and reel fishing across most of Finland. You can choose a yearly, weekly, or daily fee.
For casting (spinning or jigging) or trolling with one rod, no additional local permit is needed in our area beyond this national fee. For our fishing cabins, we’ve already arranged a cottage-specific permit for trolling with multiple rods.
