Fisherman's hut I and II are atmospheric two-bedroom holiday cottages in Lake Saimaa near Partakoski, Savitaipale in South-Western Finland. The cottages are located on Lapinsalo island. In the summer, they can be accessed by boat (a journey of 1 km). As the name suggests, the cottages are superb for fishing – even the most demanding fisherman will be impressed – but they are also great for anybody who enjoys the exotic atmosphere of a holiday on an island.

In the middle of the island is a wild pond, which is a fun destination for explorers big and small. The Orrainpolku hiking route is nearby. There are great opportunities for picking mushrooms and berries. The fisherman's huts are identical with the exception of the colours of the interiors. The cottages are 60 m apart. They are located in such a way that each cottage has its own peaceful setting. Together, the pair of huts makes an excellent option for larger parties (maximum 12 people). Both huts have a rocky beach, so visitors should have some experience using an outboard motor. Pets are welcome in the fisherman's huts.

Activities

• You can go fishing independently or with a guide. Ask about guides and fishing permits when you make your booking. Motorboats are available for an extra fee (Yamaha 5–20 hp). See instructions for boats.

• Fun trips can be made by rowing boat to Partakoski. These are the rapids where Lake Kuolimo drains into Lake Saimaa.

• You can also take your own boat to the fisherman's huts. There is a good place for letting the boat in and out of water in Partakoski. There is a signposted waterway between Lapinsalo and Kuivasensaari.

Information and Conditions

• Between midsummer week and the end of August, and at new year, the minimum rental period is one week. Changeover day is Saturday.

• Check-in from 4pm, departure by midday. You can clean the cottage yourself or leave the cleaning to us for an additional fee.
